After having discussions with our transport provider the following is the decision made.
Please be advised that all bookings and payments must be made by 15th January 2008.
As a date or space is no longer available with the vehicle, you will be informed.
The maxi shuttle service being provided to you will be structured as follows:
*Seating capacity = 12 or 15 depending on vehicle used (will be confirmed on booking)
*USD$45.00 per person, Return, Per Event (except Salybia)
*Salybia = USD$55, return
*Pick up & drop off point to be advised
As advised by the service provider, once a group has booked, the vehicle will be on site for the duration of the pre-arranged times and patrons will be able to 'rest up', 'take a nap' or leave any items in the vehicle at their comfort and not have to worry about 'the vehicle not showing up' or 'having no where to rest', should they require it.
Should the vehicle not be fully booked by one group, patrons may have to share the vehicle with other persons.
It is advisable that you do secure group bookings as this may be more comfortable for you.
Finally, a 50% deposit is required to secure this service and cancellations can only be made with 5 days notice.
Additionally, upon cancellation, we will deduct a small service fee for processing charges.
Again, this is a first pay, first scheduled service.
The prices quoted have been based upon current fares and also taking into consideration the wait time, and call out fees for the driver/s.
We can assure you that this service is safe and the driver of the vehicles is a non-smoker, non-drinker, posseses defensive driving certificates in addition to being a qualified medic.
Please feel free to email us should you need further information.

LATEST NEWS
Although we posted this info before, we have also placed it here for easy reference as well.
1. Due to an overwhelming response to our service and in particular deposits for BRIAN LARA All Inclusive, we have been forced to label this event as SOLD OUT through our service as we have reached our alloted quota. We sincerely apologise to those who have not yet had a chance to book for this event and wish you the best of luck in securing tickets. As we have indicated previously, all our tickets are on a first pay, first receive basis, and not just on pre-booking alone.
2. We have been informed through a reliable source that 2 extremely well known fetes will be making changes for the 2008 season and having a NEW LOOK/FEEL.....Be prepared to dress to impress and wine the night away in a soca enhanced ambience, with 2 big bands, while enjoying the freshness of sea breezes.........And if you like getting wet, be prepared to be soaking in a rebirth....That's all we are allowed to say at the moment folks, but we can tell you that one of them just by the ambience alone is set to be different.
3. We are still in talks to get an allocation of tickets for Tribe Thursdays.
4. Diamond Vale Breakfast Party committee will not be releasing any information until after Christmas as we were informed by a committee member. We hope to have prices and more information soon.
5. Most fete promoters/committees are holding out on giving ticket prices until after January 1st 2008. Please bear with us as we await the confirmed information.
6. We hope to be in our new office space by the 3rd week in January if not before. CUSTOMERS will be informed of our location and hours.
Once again, thank you for the comments and we are happy to answer any other questions you may have, that may not have been addressed on this blog.
sincerely

Wine...........wining.....wineology
No people, this has absolutely nothing to do with the alcoholic beverage. This is solely an breakdown and guide to dancing in T&T for Carnival....so for all de first timers, fresh waters, etc yuh will have a lil idea as to what yuh seeing or doing in a fete.
Like ah stated..dis here blog is all bout feteing....so on with de wine!!!
Wine*, Winin' A sexually suggestive dance using winding hip movements that can make the hula look tame, usually done to soca music......
or
WINING* The dance in Trinbago during Carnival is called "winin'", the "wine" is probably the closest thing to having sex with your clothes on that you're likely to see.
Winin' has recently been co-opted by music video vixens, so you have probably seen this dance or even done it without knowing the origin. Men winin' on women (and those women winin' back) is a major part of carnival; strangers commonly dance up to each other and begin this intimate dance.
Any woman in a carnival band or fete (party) is likely to be approached in this way. Don't take offense if you (or a wife or girl friend) are approached by a really dirty dancer who doesn't ask before making physical contact.
If you are not interested in joining in (by winin' back), good naturedly move away from the other person, they will usually move on to find someone more receptive.
WINING WORDS by Lisa Allen-Agostini
Wine up: to wine vigorously
Wine down: to wine while lowering the bottom to the ground in a squat
Wine around: to wine in a circular motion, or to move around while wining
Tief a wine: to creep up behind or in front of someone and wine on them surreptitiously
Take a wine: to boldly do same
Give (someone) a wine: to allow someone to wine on you; a pity wine
Wine back: to actively participate in a wine initiated by someone else
Wine to (music): self-explanatory
Small wine: a short wine
Hard wine: a particularly vigorous wine, usually on someone
Slow wine: a wine to a slow song, or on every other beat
Sweet wine: a wine that feels good, arousing
Dutty wine: a wine with bad intentions, a true jamette wine, uninhibitedly sexual
Rough wine: wining fast and hard, usually with someone
Social wine: a polite, non-sexual wine, done by someone who either can’t wine well or who wants people to think they’re too high-class to wine well
Stiff wine: an awkward wine lacking the fluidity of spine that characterises a fine wine
Tourist wine: the half-a-beat-out-of-time and amateurish wine practised by tourists who don’t know the art
Dollar wine (after Colin Lucas’s 1991 hit “Dollar”): to wine from left to right, then back to front. The song lyric invites you to put a one-cent piece in your left pocket, five-cent in your right, ten-cent in your back pocket, and a dollar in front under your belt; then you thrust your hips in the following pattern: cent, five-cent, ten-cent, dollar
Wine in time: correct wining, done to the dominant beat of the music
Wine out of time: incorrect wining, done to the offbeat or no beat at all
Walk and wine: in a display of sauciness or impertinence, or overt sexuality, a woman (or man, usually gay) may walk while shaking her bottom
Wine on (someone): to wine against someone, either facing them or from behind
Wine in (someone’s) face: metaphorical. To trounce, to lord it over someone
Wine off (one’s something): to wine so hard that something surely must be broken
Just a wine: Though a wine could mean more, sometimes it is just dancing and nothing else
Now that we have the general idea of what to do with yuh body when yuh reach de fete...
Now: for a visual on wine...no one better dan Denise Belfon to demonstrate...see below........
and doh get tie up..de men does wine too..dat coming soon!!

What is a FETE...
If you plan on coming to Trinidad & Tobago for Carnival, then you'll hear that word a lot.
Let's get you familiar with it...
A Trini fete is:
~Usually held out of doors in a largish venue where a few hundred or thousand people get together to party down
~There are usually a few live bands playing all the seasons hot hits and in between sets a DJ fills in the gaps.
~Lots of happening looking women wearing the latest in party wear dancing themselves silly.
Ditto guys.
~Food is incidental.
~Conversations, if any, are carried out at the top of your lungs over the music.
~General feeling of joie de vivre.
~Lots of alcohol to choose from.
~Food is incidental but available from a host of people
There are two main types of fetes.
ALL INCLUSIVE FETES: where all food, drink and anything else the host may choose to throw in are included in the price of the ticket. These can be good value for money and the entertainment is usually quite hot and generally runs from 1pm - 8pm depending on location, venue, etc.
These can be some very high profile events with society figures, premium bars and upscale locations including residential areas where residents throw the party. Some of these get very elaborate and the menus include an on the spot doubles man, a coconut man, bake and shark lady and in most cases food is cooked on the spot. Food selection may vary but can rang from exotic dishes and desserts - Mediterranean, Japanese fare to local favourites Pelau, Macaroni Pie, Baked Fish, etc.
The bands/artists are usually the most popular ones usually with very sexy frontline singers and there is usually ambience and décor to suit the theme of the event or at the very least tables to put your plates on. Brian Lara All Inclusive, Amnesia, Beach House, Sanctuary-Valsayn, are some notable all inclusives. The proceeds for some of these events are usually for a cause, for example CAREC-Fete to de Max fete, QRC - Outta de Blue and tickets for all are in high demand and usually sold out with in 2 days.
SEMI-INCLUSIVE FETES: that means you pay a slightly higher price than the VIP (see below) and much lower price than at an all inclusive. These events may either offer drinks (limited or select brands of alcoholic and non alcoholic) or they may offer food with a 'pay bar'. Semi Inclusive fetes may also have bands as well as DJ's providing the entertainment in addition to individual guest artists performances. One known semi inclusive is Gentlemen's Ball (GMB) by La Flor.
DUTCH INCLUSIVE FETES: that means you pay a generally low price for admission, plus the contribution as outlined on the fete promoters invitation/advertising (usually alcoholic drinks -eg: Scotch, Vodka, etc). These events also offer drinks (select brands of alcoholic and non alcoholic) and food (local finger food to full tasty dishes). Dutch Inclusive fetes do not usually have a band but DJ's provide the entertainment in addition to individual guest artists performances. One such event in the Carnival Calendar is the S.O.S Dutch Inclusive.
NON INCLUSIVE FETES: that means you pay for everything as well as your entry fee. The plus to these are that they are cheaper especially if you're not a drinker. These can be some huge events and are held by promoters for instance Girl Power, Eyes Wide Shut, Soca Monarch or sometimes by large companies. The Flour Mills - Soca by the Silos have a public fete as does the Water company- WASA fete and the army - ARMY fete. Non Inclusive fetes may also have bands as well as DJ's providing the entertainment in addition to individual guest artists performances.
However, on a point to note, the non-inclusive fetes can sometimes provide a semi inclusive environment - This is known as the VIP admission.
Unlike the general admission in the same non-inclusive event, the VIP admission usually includes free selected premium drinks and soft drinks and a selected local finger foods or appetisers - generally corn soup, doubles, bake n shark, and a closer view to the stage, in addition to a separate entrance and party area. A point to note however is that in some fetes the V.I.P area can just be a separate entrance and party area. However the more pricey VIP entries attempt to give 'more value added' in that the VIP patrons may receive additional unexpected treats.
BREAKFAST PARTIES: As the name implies, it is a breakfast party. These can fall under any of the above categories, but have mainly been ALL INCLUSIVES. They start generally at 4am and continue until 1pm in some cases.
Premium alcohol, soft drinks, juices, water, tea and coffee are generally available in addition to breakfast food items which can range from sausages, eggs, ham, bacon, toasts, bake n shark, doubles, sada, corn soup, etc.
These fetes tend to not have a band performing, but more so DJs and popular local artists performing to backing tracks.
Popular Breakfast parties include Sunny Side Up.
HOUSE FETES where a few people get together and have a 'blocko' in someone's house or a neighbourhood may block off the street and throw a party.
These are smaller and rely on a DJ for music, they're easier to manage if you're not into crowds and are a good way to warm up for the bigger events.
These are generally not advertised and are by invitation only.
Fetes come in all shapes and sizes but the underlying purpose of a fete is to kick back and enjoy yourself. It is great stress relief, you dance, you hang with your friends, you drink....sort of like a big night club only less restrained and without the posing in most fetes, or until the alco kicks in and people get off their 'posing'.
Fetes, especially all inclusives are great at breaking down barriers especially one of the big ones, go to say QRC's - Outta de Blue, Brian Lara All Inclusive, and you may run into your bank manager or a Member of Parliament or even the owners of one of local restaurants.
There are some fetes called theme fetes which request of the party goer to wear either a certain colour as in Glow(wear white), Eyes Wide Shut (wear a mask & black), Madhatters Ball (wear unusual hat), Outrageous in Red (kinda obvious)....so look out for these...
the next post will be about the winin, wining, bussing a wine........

Fete tickets for T&T Carnival events 2008
This blog is created as a spin off from our thread at http://www.islandtempo.com/
Members and Admins of that site have used the services in the past and can reccommend us to others as a reliable trustworthy source for locating hard to get fete tickets at reasonable prices..........(this service is mainly for those living overseas - UK, USA, CANADA, JAPAN, etc..yuh get de idea!!)
This is a first come, first served basis...and by this we mean, first come with deposit is guaranteed of receiving tickets. Those of you who used the service in 2006 & 2007 will be familiar with the procedure and understand the reasons behind the deposit. For our first time customers, the deposit is necessary as we will not be left responsible to any promoter for ordering/purchasing tickets and only at the last moment have persons cancel and be left out of pocket.
A friendly piece of advice: BUDGET EARLY...and of course order early as Carnival is early Feb and tickets will sell out maybe before Mid January.. here is a guide to your tickets based on 2007 prices with an approximate increase for 2008.....2009..2010..etc..etc
There will be a very small service fee attached to your orders to facilitate processing...this will not be a fee to DIG OUT YUH POCKET.....
Again.....THESE ARE NOT CONFIRMED PRICES....but an estimate to guide you..
