News Brief...general information for T&T CK9

Please be aware that for Carnival 2009, the price of alcohol in Trinidad & Tobago will be increased significantly.

As a result of this, your fete tickets, carnival costume prices (all inclusive sections/bands), limin at the bars will be affected.

Excerpt from the Trinidad Express:
INCREASES in the cost of alcohol are likely to continue in the months ahead, with a price adjustment with every shipment received.

Alstons Marketing Company, the largest importer of alcoholic beverages, has just released a new price list with hiked prices of more than 100 items.

A spokesperson for the company said the adjustment on prices now had to be made with every shipment that came in.She said the escalating costs of raw materials, freight, foreign exchange hassles and other factors were contributing to the increase.

Black Label Rum went up by 7.48 per cent, while Forres Park increased by 6.4 per cent.Based on the article, the price of RUM has increased by as much a TTD$3.00 per nip and increased by TTD$12.00 per bottle.
